Gastroenterologists

Dr. P. Karunakaran Kutty MBBS,MRCP(UK),FACP,AGAF,FRCPC
Medical Director

After his basic medical education in his native India, Dr.Kutty had 3-4 years of internal medicine training in UK and obtained MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians of London. He arrived in Canada as Chief Resident at the Medical Teaching Unit at Regina General Hospital in 1975, subsequently did his 2 year GI fellowship at the University of Western Ontario then joined the faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St.John's in 1978. He was Associate Professor of Medicine, Head of Gastroenterology and Director in GI training program when he moved to private practice in Cambridge, Ontario in 1984. After retiring from Hospital Based Practice in Cambridge in 2008, he opened his private office in Brampton where he has been providing non-emergency GI Consultations and upper and lower GI endoscopy services. He holds FRCP© in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association. He is also the President of Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton, a Canadian Registered Charity.

Dr. Bashir Sachedina MD, FRCP©

After completing his high school and early University Education in Uganda and England, Dr.Sachedina obtained his MB ChB from the University of Liverpool,UK in 1979. After completing his internship in Liverpool he moved to Canada in 1981 and completed Internal Medicine residency at University of Saskatchewan and Toronto where he also completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship. He was Consultant Gastroenterologist at Toronto Western Hospital from 1988 to 1990. He has beenconsultant Gastroenterologist affiliated with William Osler Health Centre , Brampton Civic Site from 1990.He was the site Chief for Internal Medicine 2000-2001. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He continues his affiliation with University of Toronto as Lecturer in Medicine.

 


Dr.Girish Bajaj MD, FRCP(C), DABIM

Dr.Bajaj completed undergraduate medical studies at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India  in Dec 2000. He did his Internal Medicine Residency at SUNY Upstate University, Syracuse, NY and at Penn State University Milton. S. Hershey Medical Centre, Pennsylvania and completed two years of Fellowship in Gastroenterology at McMaster University. He is Diplomate of ABIM in Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, , holding fellowships in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He had practiced as Consultant in Internal Medicine at Collongwood as well as Scarborough Hospitals. After completing Fellowship in Gastroeneterology at McMaster University , he in engaged in full time Gastroenterology Practice at Brampton Endoscopy Centre effective 1st July 2013. In addition to various endoscopic procedures, his special interests are in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Diseases of the Liver. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi. He is accepting referrals  through Brampton Endoscopy Centre. In addition to prompt Consultation and Endoscopy Services, he will be happy to provide long term follow up care for patients  with various Gastroinestinal and Liver Disorders. He has active hospital privileges in Internal Medicine  at  William Osler Medical Centre, Brampton Civic Hospital. He is the General Secretary of the North Indian Medical and Dental Association of Canada. Dr. Alan Davison MD,FRCSC

Dr.Davison graduated in Medicine from the University of Toronto where he also completed his post graduate surgical training. He has completed one year fellowship in Surgical Oncology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He has been a General Surgeon in Brampton since and is currently Head, Division of General Surgery at Brampton Civic Hospital.

Dr. Anand Pandya MD,FRCSC
William Osler Health Centre, Brampton Civic Hospital

Dr. Pandya completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. Following this, he trained in General Surgery at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. He then further sub-specialized with fellowships in both Critical Care Medicine and Trauma Surgery at the University of Toronto. Dr. Pandya currently practices General Surgery and Critical Care Medicine at the William Osler Health System - Brampton Civic Site. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

 

Dr.Farzan Ali MD, FRCS©

Dr.Ali graduated in Medicine from the University of Manitoba , Winnipeg where he also completed his postgraduate Surgical Training. He had further training in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Mc Master University, Hamilton. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada .He is currently Consultant Surgeon at , Brampton Civic Hospital

Dr. Pavi S. Kundhal BA,MD, FRCS©

Dr.Kundhal completed his Bachelor of Arts and graduated in medicine from the University of Toronto where he also completed his post graduate surgical training. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. His special interest is Bariatric Surgery . Currently he is Consultant Surgeon at Brampton Civic Hospital

Dr.Ted McAlister MD,MSc,FRCS©

After completing his Honours Bacheler of Science and Master of Science Dr.Ted McAlister graduated in Medicine and completed his postgraduate general surgical training at Queens University, Kingston. He completed further training in Surgical Oncology at the University of Toronto . He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and is currently a Consultant in Surgical Oncology at Brampton Civic Hospital.

 

 

 


 


 


 


Anaesthetists

Dr. Geoff Dugas MD,FRCP©
WOHC-Brampton Civic Hospital

Dr.Dugas obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from McMaster University, Hamilton and MD from UWO. He also completed post graduate training in Anaesthesia at UWO and then did one year of fellowship in pain management at Toronto General Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He has worked in Oakville and Mississauga and is currently on active staff in Anesthesia at WOHC - Brampton Civic Hospital. He is an affiliate member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

 

 

 


Dr. Rajdeep S. Grewal MSc,MD CCFP(E)
Asst. Professor McMaster University

Dr.Grewal completed his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at McMaster University and then a Master of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McGill University, Montreal. His undergraduate medical education was also at McMaster University, Hamilton. He completed a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Toronto. He holds a certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He pursued further training in Emergency Medicine at McMaster University and holds Certificate of Special Competence in Emergency Medicine CCFP(EM). He is currently staff emergency physician in both the adult and pediatric departments with Hamilton Health Sciences. In addition, he provides critical care services to all intensive care units in Hamilton. He currently holds an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor, Division of Emergency Medicine, DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University, Hamilton. He has been providing successful procedural sedation to his patients since 2006.
